SAINT ARCHER “PATIENCE”
Preacher Austin
I love films that have a strong theme, and this one is very close to my heart: PATIENCE. The notion of patience gave us a tone that could help inform every decision, the spine that the whole team could align around. “Patience”, as in the Gun’s and Roses song, re-whisled by Alex Ebert (of Edward Sharpe — one of the best whistlers I’ve ever heard), but also Patience, as in, the perfect word to describe this late-afternoon-beer-run feeling we’re here to portray.
Patience is also the feeling — it’s the necessity to back off, chill out, calm down, and wait. Implicit in patience is COMPLETE RELAXATION. Because, the thing is, if you’re not enjoying the wait, you’re not patient.
In translating this theme for Saint Archer, and for the small bear companies first Super Bowl we worked with world-class skater, Paul Rodriguez. And while he won eight medals at the X Games (four of them gold), but what I love most about his style, is how relaxed he always looks when he skates.
